Our salt water pool, with a beach-style entry, benches for swimmers to receive instruction, water features to encourage enjoyment, and areas for more capable swimmers to be challenged, is a highly important part of the school's program.
During the course of the school year, swim stroke mechanics, water safety and rescue, canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, and rafting are offered. Learning these skills promotes safe habits around water, and the confidence to participate in social activities. The pressure from water on the skin provides sensory feedback to soothe and calm which in turn reduces agitation from the stress or anxiety our children often experience.
As student’s skills improve, they develop self-confidence and challenge themselves, often exceeding their expectations.
