School Closure

Dear Pilot Families,

Our academic calendar indicates that classes are scheduled to resume, following Spring Break, on Monday, March 30th. However, we have made the decision to move to a distance-learning model with the intent of returning to school on April 14th. With our ever-changing situation, however, we will reevaluate on an on-going basis and communicate any changes to our plan immediately.  As a community, we should certainly hope for the best; but, we should also be fully prepared to support a distance-learning model for an extended period.

Please be assured that we are working diligently to define what our special Pilot School education will look like in this unusual landscape.  We are in close contact with other area schools, educators throughout our state and country, and listening closely to our government officials so that we can chart a course that is most beneficial for each of your children. Each division is developing a plan that will work best for their students. We will communicate details of each division's distance-learning plan during the first half of next week.

I know that many of you have questions and thank you for your understanding and patience. Our Pilot School family is strong, creative, and  resourceful and together we can make the most of this situation and do what is best for your children.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me at

With love,

Alix Kokkoris
